POSITION OVERVIEW

The Clerk for the Mailroom is responsible for management and support of all mail shipped and received/ delivered to each appropriate department. The Clerk will operate computerized mailing equipment and assist in proper mailing output. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

• Delivers mail, prints materials and other parcels to the appropriate member/ department in a timely manner without damaging the material/ parcel 
• Sorts mail within the mailroom 
• Processes mail through our mailing machines and FedEx online
• Verifies that signature are received upon delivery of mail/parcel
• Utilizes computerized mailing & print production equipment
• Maintains cleanliness within the mailroom to ensure the workplace is safe and clean
• Be in compliance with department policies and procedures
• Ability to perform other job related duties if assigned
• Receiving/ scanning and delivery of all UPS/FedEx/USPS/DHL/Amazon trucks
• Delivery of all office orders/ supplies to the appropriate member/ department
• Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience with a minimum of 2 years in a mailroom or similar role 
• Prior experience working in a luxury property preferred
• Valid drivers license is needed
• Ability to communicate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Must communicate effectively and openly with superiors, subordinates, and external stakeholders
• Must possess sound business judgment, a high degree of personal motivation, and a very strong work ethic
• Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Have the ability to operate a electric/ manual pallet jack
• Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends
• Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment with high call volume

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES    

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the Member is regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers to handle or utilize objects, tools, or controls. The Member frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision. Also there will be a considerable amount of walking required in delivering of mail/packages/pallets and office supplies to different department throughout the property. 

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

SALARY

$18 per hour
