Mailroom Manager directs and oversees mailroom activities including the sorting and delivery of incoming mail, as well as the preparation and sending of outgoing mail. Monitors inventory, checks and reorders items as needed. Being a Mailroom Manager receives and allocates office supplies. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Mailroom Manager typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Mailroom Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Part Time Mailroom Clerk
Hours: Monday-Tuesday, Thursday-Friday (OFF Wednesday) 19 HOURS
Hours subject to change depending on workflow & school quarter
- Monday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
- Tuesday: 10:30am – 3:00pm
- Wednesday: OFF
- Thursday: 10:30am – 3:00pm
- Friday: 10:30am – 3:00pm
* 30min lunchbreak every day from 11:30am – 12:00pm
Duties: Assist Manager with the daily functions of the mailroom & all customer services including:
1. Cash register (postage purchases, mailbox rental fees, etc.)
2. New mailbox rentals, closing mailbox rentals
3. Sorting mail
4. Tag & accurately log in USPS, Fed Ex, UPS, & DHL packages
5. Sort letter mail
6. Metering mail (using a Neopost machine)
7. Photocopies/Department printing
8. Faxing
9. Book binding
10. Laminating & paper cutting
11. Key cutting
12. Taking inventory & restocking office supplies
13. Cleaning/sanitizing
14. Other duties as assigned
* You must be physically able to withstand long periods of time on your feet & lift over 50 lbs.
It is critical that the mailroom clerk be knowledgeable in postal rules & specifications for delivery options, as the customers depend on the mailroom staff to provide up to date & accurate information for their personal & departmental shipping needs. The mailroom clerk must be able to communicate clearly in a friendly, helpful manner, maintaining a consistent service attitude.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 19 per week
