Mail Server Administrator administers and maintains the organization's email system(s). Monitors server performance and mail routing. Being a Mail Server Administrator creates user accounts and maintains security levels on databases. Provides first-level telephone support and troubleshoots issues. Additionally, Mail Server Administrator monitors existing messaging infrastructure and server usage, ensuring proper working order. Provides recommendations and plans for improvements to e-mail network. May document internal policies or develop training for end-users. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Server Systems Administrator will provide Tier 3 IT support to restore services at customer sites through diagnosis, isolation and resolution of systems, software, and network problems.
Education and Experience:
(Preferred) Bachelor’s Degree
2 to 3 Years of experience
Security CE (or appropriate DoDM 8570 Baseline Certification)
IAT Level II certification is required before start
Public Trust Clearance – Tier 3
Responsibilities:
Assist Field Technicians in response to situations where the normal troubleshooting processes have failed to resolve the customer’s problem at Tier 1 or Tier 2 Help Desk support.
Provide installation, support and maintenance for approximately (23) Servers used for printer services, database or file storage services, medical application services, or other business functions.
Perform maintenance and technical support for network security applications such as, hard-disk encryption.
Perform System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and McAfee Enterprise and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), Symantec End Point, and ACAS.
Install or configure third party software applications, associated patches and security updates or version updates, and troubleshoot errors associated with the installation of the software for approximately (6) Commercial-off-the Shelf (COTS) 3rd party software applications, including: Citrix and other business software products, within a Windows 10 desktop environment.
Troubleshoot software and applications that fail to function according to software design.
