Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma and one-year related experience. Must be capable of demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job in a post-offer employment test as administered by UTMB Rehab Services to include the ability to lift up to 63 lbs. floor to knuckle and frequent bending, standing and walking.

Job Summary: 

Perform a variety of clerical and manual duties associated with the operation of the institutional wide postal service.

Job Duties: 

• Perform various clerical duties such as sorting, distributing, collecting, and metering postal materials in accordance with established procedures and applicable Federal postal regulations.
• Operate postage meter machine to stamp outgoing letters; weigh and stamp packages; sectionalize outgoing mail according to destination. Maintain daily record of all metered mail by department; record registered and insured mail. Unload incoming supplies and material; verify quantity of received goods against invoices; notify supervisor of discrepancies.
• Deliver mail to Medical Center patients and pickup outgoing mail.
• Maintain clean and orderly conditions in assigned areas.
• Responds to customers (hospital staff and physicians) requests in a professional, helpful, and timely manner in person and on the telephone and provides directions and other helpful information to visitors and others while performing distribution duties.
• Follows departmental / hospital policies and procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday 8am-5pm.
