Responsibilities:

• Check that all machinery is in good working order before setup.
• Set up, adjust, and operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.
• Take precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
• Plan the proper sequence of tasks to complete assignments.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.
• Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, or grinders.
• Monitor the run throughout the cycle, checking that specifications are met.
• Measure, examine, or test completed parts to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
• Maintain machines and tools.
• Keep all work areas clean and organized.
• Follow safety standards at all times.

Requirements:

• Machinist experience is a must.
• Attention to detail and focus.
• Ability to set up and operate manual lathes and mills.
• Proficiency in taking precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
