Reads and interprets blueprints and design sketches to determine the precise specifications, dimensions, and tolerance levels of the finished product. Being a Machinist selects and operates the appropriate tools to cut, shape, or finish metal, plastic, or composite material. Sets up, services, and maintains equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation. Additionally, Machinist utilizes precision measuring instruments to check the accuracy and quality of machined parts. Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units as necessary. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Machinist works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Schedule
We are hiring for our afternoon shift, from 11AM - 7:30 PM. Monday thru Friday, with occasional Saturdays.
Typical Tasks
- Setup and operate Haas 3 axis CNC mills and Haas CNC lathes with live tooling and Y axis.
- Adjust Feeds, Speeds, and offsets to ensure accuracy and quality of machined parts.
- Setup and operate manual Mills and Lathes.
- Precision machining of aluminum, stainless steel, copper, carbon steel, ceramics, plastics, and other materials, per prints.
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Inspection of completed parts.
- Maintaining a clean work environment.
