Machine Shop Production Supervisor jobs in Wayne, NJ

Job Description

We are hiring to expand our Quality Control team with employees willing to grow with our company. Quality control experience required. Other mechanical experience a plus.

Essential Duties:

• Perform batch inspections on completed parts, keeping the shop supervisors appraised of any failures
• Inspect first articles using micrometers, gages and related metrology equipment and document findings, alerting the setup machinist to any features out of tolerance or near the edge of tolerance
• Maintain traceability of parts at all times
• Provide accurate inventory counts at all times and keep parts in appropriate storage areas
• Read and understand blueprints for parts being inspected
• Maintain a clean, safe work area
• Work as a team member to aid all shifts in achieving quality and production goals.
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements: *Education/Certifications*

• High school, or equivalent
• 2 years prior inspection experience

*Skills/Abilities/Competencies*

• Understanding of safety rules and regulations to prevent unsafe set-ups, operations, or acts which might cause injury to self, others, or environment.
• Working understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
• Able to use and read micrometer and other metrology equipment.
• Good interpersonal, written and oral communications skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Must have strong PC skills and ability to work with Microsoft products
