Machine Shop Manager / QA Manager
Overview:
Based in Lake Wylie/Clover, SC, ECUTEC is an global business supplying to the energy, nuclear and infrastructure industries. We provide NDT calibration standards, testing equipment, Eddy Current probes, machining/EDM services, welding and much more to our customers. Due to growth, ECUTEC seeks an Machine Shop Supervisor to join the team.
An ideal candidate will have a combination of technical aptitude and leadership skills.
- This is a working position and Shop Supervisor must also produce parts as a member of the production team· Coordinate work between the machinists, office team and CEO to meet day-to- day output goals, and project milestones, while meeting quality levels and appearance of work required by the NDT industry
- Ensure that shop personnel and shop environment is safe and that the team is punctual and productive.
- Must be familiar with measuring devices in all categories of machining practices. Assure machined tolerances are as stated and acceptable. Must read and decipher drawings and prints. Assure measurements conform to customer and company specifications when applicable.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the office team and CEO any ongoing projects in process
- Train employees on calibration standard manufacturing and machining processes
- Ensure the safety of all employees by addressing concerns
- Ensure that all employees are outputting at their maximum and at the highest quality and lowest cost
- Machine components on manual lathes, mills and CNC equipment
- Ensure that the team is accurately inspecting parts to meet drawing tolerances along with knowledge of the proper use of all measuring equipment
- Maintaining raw stock inventory database and inventory levels
- Convey quality standards to all shop employees
- Maintain housekeeping at a best-in-class level
- Working with the team and CEO to bring continuous improvement ideas and implementing approved ideas
- Bring any concerns about production, staff or any other items to the CEO
- Maintain and improve the quality system and lead internal and external audits
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership skills
- Agile with manual lathes and milling machines
- Experience with EDM Sinker, wire EDM and hole popper is preferred
- Experience with CNC milling machines and lathes
- Positive can-do attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Focused on quality and results oriented
- Ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time while completing fast and accurate deliverables
Optional Skills and Abilities
- Basic AutoCAD or Inventor would be a plus
- Post processing experience with Mastercam or Esprit would be beneficial
- Understanding of eddy current and UT methods a plus
- Understanding of quality programs
