Production Supervisor: Supervises the daily activities of the production area to ensure that cost, delivery, safety, waste, volume, and quality standards are met. Coordinates work schedules, staffing and production sequences to maximize productivity. Supervision performs assessments, documentation, and organization tasks to support the efficiency and effectiveness of the department, and in accordance with overall company and department objectives, as well as state and federal regulations. This position occasionally works in an environmentally controlled/white room.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Completes production plans accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production with Managements, Shift Supervisors, Leads and Scheduling.
- Maintain workflow by setting process variables, monitoring steps of the process: observing equipment and control points, facilitating corrections implementing cost reductions.
- Directs, assigns, supervises and supports employees. Ensure material and resources are available for manufacturing of product. Ensure all work is completed as defined by the work instructions and customer specifications.
- Safety: adheres to safety requirements practices/procedures as required, including PPE/ clothing.
- Follow workplace safety rules including proper handling practices of chemicals per procedures, LOTO and HAZMAT policies, refer to SDS when applicable.
- Work with and train new employees: including training forms, qualification cards, verification documents ensuring all employees are proficient in the skill, procedure, practices.
- Monitor material and supply levels and communicates the need to re-order when applicable.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- 1 to 3 years of previous leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong leadership, organizational time-management skills.
- Must possess good documentation practices (GDP)
- Ability to read/write in English, interpret all PPC documents, including safety rules, operational instructions, procedure manuals, engineering drawings, specifications and geometric dimensioning and tolerances and SDS sheets.
- Strong Math skills, measure in English and metric measurements with conversions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with continuously changing jobs and priorities.
- Ability to effectively use and/or learn Microsoft office, Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Previous experience in any of the following: Assembly, Extrusion, Polymer, Tooling.
- Excellent leadership skills, experience and ability to accept change.
- Lean manufacturing or six sigma training.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 13485:2003, GLP, cGMP, FDA and other applicable standards
