We have an exciting opportunity for a Machine Shop Supervisor to join our team. This position will supervise all aspects of operations for Davis-Standard’s manufacturing department for an assigned shift.

Job Description
Supervise all aspects of operations for Davis-Standard’s manufacturing department for an assigned shift. This function supports the hiring, development, and supervision of a skilled, technical workforce including the creation of training methods and processes for the department.
Working closely with the Manufacturing Manager and the leadership team, this position will utilize technical expertise and supervision skills to manufacture complex machined components and assemblies, implement plant objectives and support the facility polices, programs, and procedures.
Responsibilities
Execute the day to day process of reviewing jobs, work orders, and routings and ensure all labor corrections and jobs completions are done accurately and correctly;
developing turnout and ensuring proper workflow through the department. Partner with Scheduling / Panning to ensure the correct jobs are being moved through the shop.
Evaluate KPI’s and support changes and improvements to help exceed Surpass Operating System objectives.
Create standardized work instructions to ensure new employees are consistently trained on all manufacturing processes. Ensure all employees are listed on the Master training matrix and that all periodic retraining’s are completed on time.
Evaluation and determination on when parts are ready for plate-finishes as well is fits and alignments.
Work with Programmers to develop methods for parts & assemblies as well as scheduling job releases for machining & assembly.
Work with outside venders for quoting of stripping and plating, quote new parts after Methods are completed.
Provide updates on the status of machining, proposing project milestones, completion of milestones and project delivery.
