Planning: Collaborate with engineering and planning teams to schedule and prioritize work orders, ensuring timely completion of projects while optimizing machine utilization.
Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control processes to guarantee the precision and accuracy of machined parts. Conduct regular inspections and address any deviations from quality standards.
Workflow Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement and workflow optimization. Streamline production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times. Maintain a set of KPI's across the aspects of the machine shop and use as feedback to drive improvement.
Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure that machines are properly maintained and serviced. Address equipment malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all team members adhere to safety regulations. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to create a secure working environment.
Training and Development: Facilitate training programs for machinists to enhance their skills and keep them updated on industry best practices. Foster a culture of continuous learning within the team.
