Description
Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of the director of the machine shop is the overseeing of the setup and operation of the equipment in the machine shop as well as the developing of processes with the purpose of increasing efficiency and reducing the cost of manufactured replacement parts for the Nephron Companies. Additional responsibilities include the overseeing of day to day operations of the shop as well as the supervision of employees. The director is also expected to to engineer and design new parts and to fix issue with vendors’ designs and or machinery. Other duties consist of troubleshooting equipment and repairing the machinery.
Primary Accountabilities:

• Develop and implement a shop safety program. Act as a safety role model. Ensure conformance of all.
• Procure machine shop equipment for Columbia, start it up, develop maintenance plan, SOPs, and train direct reports in proper operation of equipment.
• Work with customers at the Nephron companies to develop innovative, cost effective, reverse engineering of Bosch and Rommelag spare parts and other parts needed to achieve.
• Develop shop expertise and equipment to manufacture Rommelag molds in shop.
• Support all of Nephron facilities in South Carolina and perform in other roles and responsibilities as needed.

• Work with customers in Columbia to develop innovative, cost effective, reverse engineering of Bosch and Rommelag spare parts. Additional make parts for all of the Nephron Companies by means of reverse engineering, designing of new parts and cost effective ways of repairing parts in a timely manner.
• Develop shop expertise and equipment to manufacture Rommelag molds in shop.
• Support of NPC, 503B, Nitrile and Inject EZ of South Carolina facility and other roles and responsibilities as needed.
• Conduct daily plant walkthroughs to ensure problems are caught before production demands are jeopardized.
