Machine Shop Production Supervisor oversees personnel in charge of operating machines that perform a variety of processing operations. Supervises assembly operations such as filing, aligning, fitting, and scraping of parts to ensure established requirements and standards are met. Being a Machine Shop Production Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. General duties include:
Inspection of machined parts.
Filling out & maintaining documentation for inspection reports.
Performing in-house calibration of measuring devices.
Maintaining calibration records.
Checking for proper documents in production areas.
Assisting production staff with measuring & print questions.
Skills:
Proper use of all precision measuring devices (CMM experience a plus).
Read & interpret multi view, complex blueprints (GD&T knowledge a plus).
Basic computer skills (including Excel & Word).
Neat & legible handwriting.
Able to manage daily workload independently.
Calm demeanor & able to work with various “personalities”.
Able to work calmly & efficiently with rapidly changing priorities.
