Researches and reports on cost effective plans to minimize loss. Being a Loss Control Manager contributes to business plans and objectives. Ensures compliance with all regulations and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations which pertain to loss control. Additionally, Loss Control Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Loss Control Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Loss Control Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     RRI is seeking an experienced an Loss Control Consultant throughout our coverage territory to conduct commercial insurance loss control inspections.

     

    Field Consultant - Loss Control

     

    Loss Control Field Consultant is primarily responsible for performing inspections and completing insurance underwriting reports. Insurance Companies use these reports to properly underwrite new or renewing insurance policies. 

    Field Consultants drive to locations to take photos and visually observe the interior and exterior of facilities.  They note the business operations to determine insurance exposures and identify potential improvements.  Field Consultants are assigned work on a daily or weekly basis. 
     

    Position Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Recording onsite observations, taking measurements and photos in accordance with carrier-specific requirements
    • Identifying building construction and potential hazards
    • Timely completion of assignments/reports according to due dates 
    • Communicating regularly with Field Manager to complete inspections in the most cost effective and efficient manner
    • Coordinating the time and date of the inspection meeting the insured representative onsite
    • Preparing and reporting inspection results, uploading photos and preparing diagrams on an ongoing basis
    • Travel to insured locations, some overnight travel may be required

     

    Job Requirements:

    The successful candidate must possess:

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with other Loss Control Service Providers or major insurance carriers 
    • Comprehensive understanding of commercial insurance lines
    • Broad understanding of building construction and ISO classes
    • Solid communication and time management skills including exceptional writing ability, organizational skills and computer skills
    • Ability to work from home with a PC and high-speed internet connection
    • Valid driver’s license, with acceptable driving record
    • Digital camera or smart phone with picture capability

     

    Designations such as CSP, ARM or related certifications are preferred

     

    Work Environment:

    While performing the duties of this job, the consultant will be on insured property sites and at a home office. Work at insured's sites will involve standing, walking on average a mile a day, bending as required to measure properties and climbing ladders or stairs.  Work at insured's sites involves travel in all weather conditions. Office work includes the use of a home computer for various amounts of time completing the reports online.
