Logistics Manager manages all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination. Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Being a Logistics Manager oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Selects vendors and negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance. Additionally, Logistics Manager ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Logistics Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Position Summary
The Warehouse Manager supports the General Manager to ensure the operational efforts of an individual client location under limited supervision. This position will participate in the development and implementation of location policies and procedures. The Warehouse Manager also conducts operational analyses and audits current procedures to improve operations efficiency and client satisfaction. The Warehouse Manager will spend most of their time in the warehouse maximizing the performance of the site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Oversight of the daily operations and ensure daily objectives are being met
Act as a Location’s point of contact in the absence of the General Manager
Implement Lean Six Sigma throughout the warehouse
Enforce company compliance standards
Ensure the planning and scheduling of distribution services are executed in a timely manner
Manage and perform activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation
Support an environment that fosters open and positive team communication
Partner with current and potential motor carriers
Build a strong rapport with our service providers and clients
Communicate daily/shift goal of facility and group(s); device, communicate and implement plans to obtain operational goals; work with and motivate employees to ensure goal achievement; provide progress or constraint updates to management and implement corrective measures as needed
Enforce location safety management plans
Delegate and appoint work amount the team
Manage a team of up to 4 direct reports (punctuality, performance PTO, discipline, coaching, etc.)
Interview, train, select employees
Determine the pay and the hours of work
Make independent discretion and judgement
Manage logistics services
Performing other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Bachelor’s Degree or comparable work experience preferred
Two (2) years or more of problem-solving skills experience, use of formal Root Cause Countermeasure and warehouse experience
Must have people management experience and experience with independent contractors
Ability to prioritize and organize work, along with a strong follow-up, analytical, problem-solving, and sound decision-making skills
Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms with customers, employees, peers, and management.
Create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, workgroups, customers, supervisors)
Work self-directed with minimal supervision
Work independently and as a member of a team
Flexibility to operate, and self-driven to excel, in a fast-paced environment
Capability to multi-task and highly organized with excellent time management skills
Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices
Intermediate computer skills
Exposure to Lean principles, systems, and tools (beginner level)

Speaking with Motor Carriers and checking compliance
Communicating with other departments on updates, meetings, and other as needed

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field preferred
WMS experience
Two (2) years or more of experience in logistics, warehouse, or industry-related field preferred
