Logistics Manager manages all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination. Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Being a Logistics Manager oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Selects vendors and negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance. Additionally, Logistics Manager ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Logistics Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Logistics Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Individual shall have worked in an ISO environment and supported the Quality Management Requirements of a company and overseen Shipping and Receiving Operations.

    Key Job Qualifications & Responsibilities:

    • Ability to prioritize orders and work with other departments to set priorities for shipment.
    • Receive and ship components to include packaging and labeling of components.
    • Knowledge of ASTM D3951, MIL-STD-2073 and MIL-STD-129 packaging
    • Demonstrated capability to maintain receiving & shipping accuracy.
    • Demonstrated capability to work closely with truck drivers on load management to include weight distribution and strapping of pallets inside a truck.
    • Forklift Certified preferred or willing and able to be Certified.
    • Capable of lifting 60 lbs., bend, stoop, stand, repetitive motion, etc.
    • Ability to pass background investigation.
    • Other duties as prescribed.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • ISO 9001: 2015 and AS9100 Quality Management
    • OSHA Requirements for warehouse safety
    • ERP, Excel & Google Sheets knowledge required
    • Experience with Freight Forwarders required
    • Experience with Freight Negotiations a plus
    • Familiarity with International Shipping a plus
    • Attention to Detail
    • Strong problem-solving skills, not just problem identifying
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Willingness to learn!
