Logistics Manager manages all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination. Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Being a Logistics Manager oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Selects vendors and negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance. Additionally, Logistics Manager ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Logistics Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Logistics Manager Duties & Responsibilities:
Plans, directs, and c oordinates logistics activities of designated program to ensure that contractual requirements and company objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties:
· Logistics Manager confers with logistics team, program staff and managers to outline and establish logistics plans.
· Logistics Manager directs and coordinates logistics activities of program personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
· Prepares and reviews logistics reports/briefings for senior management and customers as required.
· Confers with logistics and program personnel to provide technical advice and assist in problem resolution.
· Coordinates sustainment activities with activities of customers, logistics team and off site/remote personnel.
· Performs program risk assessments with logistics team and provides to customers.
