Logistics Manager manages all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination. Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Being a Logistics Manager oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Selects vendors and negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance. Additionally, Logistics Manager ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Logistics Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager.     Inbound Logistics Flow Leader is a strategic team leader who coordinates and controls the regional inbound logistics flow to factories or warehouses, drives the lowest optimized cost & cycle, while balancing business needs. Inbound Logistics Flow Leader takes key leader role to implement strategies to reduce / eliminate logistics cost, ensure on time delivery to meet factory / supplier need via optimal delivery cycles, and be a critical point of contact for inbound logistics escalations.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Supervise and optimize regional inbound shipment management, improve on time delivery and cost efficiency of inbound deliveries through Lean approach, ensure Transport Management System (OTM - Oracle Transportation Management) and process compliance and integrity in the Inbound team.
    • Drive and contribute establishment of region-specific delivery strategy and execute consolidation and network optimization plans.
    • Initiate and implement continues improvement ideas for safety, quality, delivery and cost.
    • Work closely with factory & respective fulfillment leaders and the global logistics and customs organization leaders to deliver results in line with business strategic goals.
    • Contribute budgetary planning and ensure data accuracy, create financial reports and analysis.
    • Support timely and competitive total landed cost logistics quotes required throughout ITO/OTR cycle in conjunction with mode specialist.
    • Accountable to drive harmonization of the regional processes through strong integration principles.
    • Monitor, evaluate "early warning" identification of potential issues, work with cross-functional leadership teams and report, resolve inbound operational issues.
    • Develop strong relationships with logistics and customs service providers, build operational rhythm and review regularly performance, develop for continuous improvement.
    • Take ownership of logistics key performance indicators and lead corrective actions as required.
    • Work with OTM IT teams on system development and improvement in accordance with logistics leadership direction and actual business needs.
    • Support all types of supplier negotiations by providing data and / or participating negotiate events as necessary, build onboarding plans and drive implementation.
    • Drive freight payment resolution, manage 3rd party freight audit and payment provider, initiate new integrations as necessary for smooth invoices processing and better on-time payment performance.
    • Supervise post shipment inquiries and claims.
    • Immediately shut down the operation when realized life or serious injury risk present.
    • Follow EHS rules and warn others to follow the rules, active participation on EHS trainings and events.
    • Immediately report the incidents and near misses to the direct reports and EHS department
    • Further tasks not involved in this Job Description that the immediate leader/manager assigns with verbally or in writing.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science or Master degree in Transportation Management/Business or Supply Chain Management is preferred with at least 5 years related work experience.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in international transport service or related field

    Desired Characteristics

    • Good understanding of foreign customs and import requirements,
    • In depth knowledge of Incoterms 2020 or newer.
    • Extensive experience in Project Based Logistics is desired
    • Advanced English
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to perform under pressure in an environment of high-volume transactions.
    • Ability to plan, assign priorities and solve problems.
    • Strong data analytic skills
    • Time Management, Resource Management, and Persuasion skills
    • Knowledge of various software applications (OTM, MS power point & Excel)
    • High energy with strong leader skills and ability to be a change agent
    • Proven experience working with diverse, global teams
    • Ability to coordinate and lead in a matrix environment.
    • Previous experience in GE Gas Power
    • A change agent
    • Ability to communicate at all levels.
    • Experience in developing business level summaries.
    • Travel up to 30% of time.

    Pay Transparency

    The base pay range for this position is $ 98,400 – 131,500. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.  This posting is expected to close on April 13, 2024, or thereafter.

    *The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
