Logistics Manager manages all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination. Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Being a Logistics Manager oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Selects vendors and negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance. Additionally, Logistics Manager ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Logistics Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the location’s ability to assign all daily routes
· Implement tasks, create reports, assist with daily operational needs, and complete assignments at General Manager’s direction
· Develop and submit to management a detailed daily delivery plan of fleet vehicle availability, staff assignments, and other resources to ensure all deliveries are completed successfully while maximizing fleet capacity and maintaining efficient routing
· Assist management with the evaluation of the effectiveness of and recommend alternatives for work methods, procedures to ensure the Technicians readiness
· Communicate recruiting needs to General Manager, participate in recruitment, development, and retention of drivers through a culture of mutual respect and dedication to providing top-notch customer service
· Assist management in supervising technicians and monitoring their performance and work habits.
· Coach and mentor Technicians to meet their peak performance
· Supervise and observe the loading of trucks to confirm conformance to freight pulls, prevent product damage, and ensure the safe operation of the technicians
· Train and enforce quality control standards that align with company safety programs, as well as safety rules and compliance with all government regulations including OSHA requirements and COVID-19 PPE usage.
· Verify route documentation and confirm all routes are correct prior to dispatch times
· Create Technicians schedule and assign routes, reassign Technicians routes day of on DSR
· Monitor Technicians goals and metrics, provide assessments, document service failures, and develop correction and improvement plans
· Responsible for 7:00 AM Delivery Metrics & IVR Usage
· Ensure Technicians Uniform adherence
· Promote Dock Safety and ensure adherence
· Assist in resolving with customer escalations
· Coordinate fuel needs and preventative maintenance for vehicle fleet
· Regularly inspect all vehicles to ensure proper usage and care by Technicians and recommend corrective action as needed
· Secure estimates for any vehicle repairs and submit to management for approval
Qualifications and Skills
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in Operations and/or Logistics Management/Transportation
· Deep understanding and knowledge of home appliance industry, including installation and servicing.
· Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or similar field preferred/experience
· Excellent communication and time management skills desired; attention to detail and ability to analyze and process improve strongly preferred.
· Demonstrated success in developing and managing employees, creating a quality and service-oriented workplace.
· Preferred fluency in Spanish
