Logistics Director manages all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination. Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Being a Logistics Director oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Selects vendors and negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance. Additionally, Logistics Director ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Logistics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Logistics Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Position Summary:

    We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic-minded individual to join our team as the Director of Logistics. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for reviewing and optimizing our current logistics processes.  The Director of Logistics will also be heavily involved in developing business plans to ensure efficiency, profitability, and employee development in alignment with overarching strategies as defined by executive leadership.
    This position reports to the Vice President, Facility Management for North America within Omni Logistics’ Domestic Forwarding operation.  The Director role is responsible for 3 direct reports running customer dedicated logistics facilities and 12 indirect reports who lead customer specific logistics teams within core facility locations.

    Core Responsibilities & Duties:

    • Conduct a thorough analysis of the existing logistics processes, identifying areas for improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement streamlined and standardized logistics procedures.
    • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance overall supply chain effectiveness.
    • Participate in development of the organization’s long-term logistics strategy to align with the company's overall goals and objectives.
    • Identify opportunities for scalability and design corresponding initiatives that support growth.
    • Implement robust systems to adapt to changing market conditions and industry trends.
    • Participate in creation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of the logistics process.
    • Oversee adherence to established SOP’s including regular, timely updates.
    • Ensure consistency and compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
    • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging feedback and innovation.
    • Participate in the definition and implement of key performance indicators for the logistics department.
    • Regularly monitor and report on KPIs, using data-driven insights to guide decision-making.
    • Implement corrective actions as needed to ensure performance targets are met or exceeded.
    • Optimize resource allocation including, but not limited to, personnel, equipment, square footage, and technology to maximize operational efficiency.
    • Collaborate with technology teams to integrate cutting-edge logistics technologies and automation where applicable.
    • Lead the rollout of training programs designed to enhance the skills and capabilities of the logistics team.
    • Foster a culture of professional growth and career development within the logistics department.
    • Collaborate with other departments such as procurement, production, and customer service to ensure seamless coordination across the entire supply chain.
    • Work closely with executive leadership to provide input that helps align logistics strategies with overall business objectives.
    • Other duties as assigned.
