Logistics Director manages all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination. Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Being a Logistics Director oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Selects vendors and negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance. Additionally, Logistics Director ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Logistics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Logistics Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Essential Functions Statement(s)

    • Directs, oversees, and enhances the company infrastructure, with key focuses on our Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) implementations, customer ERP interfaces, innovation in IT solutions, and cybersecurity.
      • WMS Stewardship:  Oversees the administration, maintenance, and optimization of our WMS.  Collaborates with the Operational teams to ensure the WMS aligns with business needs and enhances warehouse efficiency.  Evaluates the system solutions and integrations with automation providers to drive efficiency and productivity.
      • EDI Implementations:  Lead EDI implementation with new customers, ensuring smooth and efficient data interchange between the customer and Holman Logistics.  Develop and maintain standards for transaction processing and data exchange
    • Strategically develops policies and procedures utilized in the design and maintenance of the company’s infrastructure, working with Human Resources and company leadership.
    • Stays informed of industry trends and technological advancements, proposing and implementing innovative solutions.
    • Develops and maintains a robust cybersecurity strategy to protect against company system and data breaches, regularly assessing for risks and implementing appropriate preventative measures.
    • Facilitate seamless integration with customer ERP systems and work closely with customers with internal teams to understand requirements and deliver customized and innovative solutions.
    • Oversees the design and implementation of information systems that support the organization’s network infrastructure.
    • Designs and utilizes performance reports to continuously monitor the systems to ensure the highest level of infrastructure performance and security.
    • Manages the IT department's direct reports and coaches them to increase performance and works to offer new development opportunities.  Mentors the IT department and fosters a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
    • Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the IT department and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure of the company.  Effectively manage project timelines and resources.
    • Works collaboratively with the various departments to align IT strategy with current business needs and future objectives.
    • Analyzes the needs of the different departments and determines ways to meet business objectives by modifying existing or developing new information processing systems.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.

    SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.  Master’s degree preferred.  Additional certifications in network design and/or programming are a plus.
    • Experience: 10 years experience in IT, with at least 5 of those years in a leadership role, preferably within a logistics or similar industry.
    • Computer Skills: Advanced experience in IT network design is required, with expertise in WMS, EDI, ERP integration, and Cyber security.
    • Additional Skills:  Excellent problem-solving skills, strategic thinking, and demonstrated analytical skills.  Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

    Salary Range:  $120,000 - $160,000/yr.
