Job Description

The Opportunity

As the subject matter expert for all logistics and logistics activities, the Director Logistics is a key member of the Good360 team. The Director of Logistics reports directly to the SVP of Operations and serves as an advisor to the Executive team. He or she is responsible for overseeing the execution of strategies in support of the company’s growing Logistics operations (~$10M annual spend). This role will lead all aspects of the logistics network including fleet management, 3rd party logistics, cost management, demand planning, forecasting, and the logistics of inbound and outbound traffic. The Director Logistics will manage internal, cross-functional relationships and oversee significant third-party supplier and vendor relationships to ensure on-time performance of the outsourced Logistics network while controlling costs. They will establish strategy, structure, processes, and systems capable of scaling in support of the broader Good360 distribution strategies.

Responsibilities

• Establish, in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team, multi-year Logistics strategies; aligned with company-wide strategic priorities and initiatives.
• Clearly communicate Logistics strategy, tactical priorities, and performance expectations across the logistics organization and work collaboratively with leadership to ensure strategies are productively aligned.
• Strategically manage key logistical partners, both globally and locally, with a focus on innovation, cost objectives and continuous improvement, as well as operationally ensuring the partners’ adherence to contractual obligations through SLAs,
• Establish reliable forecasts and aggressive but attainable goals for unit economics ensuring these goals are linked to growth in the overall economic value of the business.
• Guide execution against these plans, adjusting as market conditions change and evolve.
• Assist Good360’s Fulfillment Centers and Nonprofit & Donation Strategy team in developing and implementing a strategy for achieving logistics targets.
• Develop and oversee key business processes including procurement & carrier management, order management, shipment planning & execution, revenue billing & freight bill audit/payment.

• Use data-driven decision-making to deliver meaningful results that align with the overall Logistics strategy and develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators that will direct the teams to success.

Qualifications

Minimum 7 years’ experience in the associated job duties and essential functions; Minimum 5 years of leadership experience.

• BS/BA degree in Logistics, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field from an accredited college/university; MBA or MA/MS in supply chain is a plus.
• Experience with a private company or large business unit, preferably with complex Logistics, fleet ops and logistics footprint.
• Experience in driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software and basic data analytics.
• Experience with a WMS, TMS and broad knowledge of transit tracking systems.
