Job Summary
The Director of Global Logistics and Distribution reports to the Global Director of planning and oversees company activities related to logistics and warehousing/distribution including shipping, receiving, put-away, pick/pack, returns and material transfers. This role is responsible for the accuracy and efficiency of distribution center operations and establishes policies and procedures which result in the maximization of sales through timely and accurate deliveries. This position is responsible for evaluating distribution network analysis and working with 3PL providers when and where required and reviewing their performance against defined KPI. This position is responsible for negotiating with and selecting, partnering, and reviewing performance with all global transportation providers. This position is responsible for identifying high potential individuals and mentoring and developing them to their highest potential.
Essential Functions
Manage a team of Distribution and Warehouse managers, across multiple sites, to achieve unparalleled internal and external customer satisfaction through the assurance of optimal quality, capacity, cost, accuracy, on-time delivery, safety, visual controls, and distribution center performance measures.
Collaborate with International regional logistics and operational leaders to be aligned with their initiatives and direction. Establish strategic distribution plans with regions.
Manage a Global Transportation manager and an International Logistics Manager
Partnering with ZOLL’s Sales, Sales administration, Materials Planning and Global Logistics functions, create a strong distribution center value stream by leading the process to eliminate operational barriers.
Establish, manage and support third party supplier relationships (3PLs)
Identify and incorporate warehouse and distribution center focused technological and automation enhancements that will contribute to speed, accuracy, greater throughput, and flexibility.
Drive continuous improvement to key indicators such as on time delivery, Shipment accuracy and labor force efficiency
Supervise, coach, train, mentor and develop a highly effective warehouse and logistics staff
Direct team to optimize the full sales order fulfillment cycle
Develop team to effectively handle and ensure resolution of warehouse related problems, incidents, or complaints. Handle escalation when required
Prepare and monitor both Transportation and Distribution budgets
Responsible for departmental audit readiness and for participating in internal and external quality audits
Responsible for root cause identification and development of corrective and preventative actions
Identify high potential individuals. Mentor and coach high potential individuals. Develop an incumbent to succeed this role
Develop and implement proper distribution center safety protocols
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
BS/BA preferred or
10 years of experience preferred
Oracle supply chain experience preferred and
10 years professional warehouse, distribution center and supply chain management experience within a business-to-business environment
required and
10 years of experience leading, developing, mentoring, and engaging a high performing team
required and
Experience managing third party suppliers (3PLs)
required and
Experience negotiating and developing relationships with global transportation providers
required and
Experience in identifying and implementing the right distribution automation solutions for supporting the continued growth of the business without relying on more people to fill the need

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to effectively prioritize initiatives to meet expectations
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
Expertise in Tableau or similar BI technology
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, effective resource allocation and leadership techniques
Excellent time management, organization, verbal, and written communication skills
Proven ability to identify problems of varying complexity and review related information to develop, evaluate and implement solutions
