Logistics Director manages all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination. Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Being a Logistics Director oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Selects vendors and negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance. Additionally, Logistics Director ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Logistics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.     The Opportunity
    We are looking for a Customer Logistics Director. The position reports to VP of Supply Chain and is a part of the Supply Chain Leadership Team in North America. This is an exciting position that offers you the outstanding opportunity to shape the role and its future evolution.
    What you’ll do
    The Customer Logistics Director will identify and implement initiatives that improve logistics efficiency & reduce logistics cost, particularly with the alignment of strategic customers. This role ensures that the business value with customers is collected and considered as part of commercial joint business plans. The Customer Logistics Manager will help us drive customer loyalty and achievement of the company’s cost objectives while delivering value, with both B2B & B2C customers.
    Establish a strong foundation for collaborative joint value creation in logistics, specifically:
    • Ensure that commercial and logistics strategies are aligned for key strategic customers.
    • Gain top management sponsorship for customer collaboration initiatives.
    • Identify successful collaboration initiatives that can be quickly reapplied to additional customers.
    • Identify and facilitate collaborative links between the right people in both companies.
    Ensure clarity and alignment on the objectives and governance of collaborative initiatives, specifically:
    • Define the objectives expected from joint value creation initiatives upfront, and how they will be captured and reported.
    • Monitor the progress vs. expected execution breakthroughs and make the necessary course corrections to ensure initiatives are delivered on time.
    • Highlight cost and other benefits for both companies — ensure that wins are known, and challenges communicated positively to team members in both organizations.
    • Be the advocate of customer logistics needs while understanding limitations within Michelin and vice versa. Consider these within the context of the shared supply chain so that initiatives benefit both companies.
    • Agree on the right "route to market" for multiple products by considering its flow from factory to customer; end to end.

    Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree required; preferably in Logistics, Engineering, ; MBA/MS in Supply Chain & Logistics strongly preferred
    • At least 10 years of experience in Logistics (warehousing & transportation), in the North American Market context
    • At least 5 years of experience in a Customer Logistics Manager role, in a large organization (Logistics Budget > 750 M$) with demonstrated ability to drive Customer collaboration & deliver results
    Travel : Minimum travel, up to 25%.
