The opportunity

Performs clerical functions associated with inbound and outbound freight within the Logistics department.

The role

• Organizes and sets up all documentation for the processing of freight in a timely manner.
• Tracks inbound international shipments from origin to final destination for multiple facilities.
• Communicates with brokers and carriers to ensure timely clearance and delivery of containers.
• Generates daily reports reflecting container status.
• Facilitates container moves from port to destination and between facilities.
• Manages empty equipment and movement between facilities and carriers.
• Manages outbound consolidated shipments to foreign vendors.
• Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

The requirement

Knowledge & Expertise

• High School or Technical Diploma Preferred, 1-3 Years Preferred

Attributes

• Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)
• Experience with customs highly desired
• Good verbal and written communication required
• Basic Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience preferred (RedPrairie, etc.)
• Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced and team-oriented environment
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for a majority of work day
• Hearing required in order to hear instructions, safety warnings, etc.
• Vision required to operate a keyboard and to complete required data entry
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English language effectively
