  • Duties

    • Serves as a senior analyst and project lead/manager in researching and developing strategic plans to enhance the overall operational activities in support of the mission; researches, interprets, analyzes and applies guidelines.
    • Provides detailed plans, budgets, and schedules for assigned programs and participates with management for integrating requirements.
    • Provides substantive management support services in the areas of special programs/projects, surveys, training/development needs, workforce enhancements programs, audit readiness, records management, cost analysis, and multi-year fiscal planning.
    • Develops multiple plans of action for recommendations based on research findings to the Commander.
    • Analyzes and evaluates quantitative or qualitative effectiveness of structure, functions, and operations with interrelated work processes and functions in meeting established goals and objectives to improve processes, maximize resources utilization.
    • Prepares detailed plans and performs work measurement, methods and procedures, manpower requirements utilization, benchmarking, and/or time engineered studies for substantive work processes to improve production efficiency.
    • Coordinates and integrates one or more administrative and operational program support activities (e.g., personnel management, timekeeping, safety, Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), security, Defense Travel System (DTS), awards, etc.).

    Qualifications

    To qualify for a Management Analyst your resume and supporting documentation must support:
    • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
    • Providing management support services in developmental processes impacting cost analysis, fiscal planning and budget preparation.
    • Conducting analysis of administrative and operational support programs such as supplies, services, equipment, facilities, training, developmental, security, budget/finance, COR and Defense Travel System (DTS) administration.
    • Evaluating established processes and procedures and recommending changes to improve business practices.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
