Summary

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., makers of Yellawood brand Pressure Treated Pine, is seeking a Log Scaler Operator. This position will be responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment by performing the following duties. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and a full benefits package. 

Essential Duties:

• Weighs incoming and outgoing shipments for the sawmill
• Enters data into the computer system
• Scan and review logs for measurements 
• Responsible for placing identifying information on the material upon arrival at the plant site.
• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shippers to rectify damages and shortages.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Assists in stacking lumber or moving products by hand as needed.

Education and/or Experience:                   

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
