Being a Log Grader and Scaler is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Summary:
· Wattle/Log Operators are primarily responsible for using the blower, auger and/or Filtrexx machine to fill netting tubes with straw or wood chips. All employees of Western Green are expected to demonstrate a commitment to our Mission, Vision, Core Values and Guiding Principles.
Required Skills:
· Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
· Basic Math Skills including addition, subtraction, division and multiplying.
· Measuring skills for ruler and tape measurements.
· Able to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
· Cable of lifting 50lbs unassisted.
· Ability to produce accurate work in a timely manner.
· Able to work on foot for extended periods of time.
· Reliable mode of transportation.
Desirable Skills:
· Previous manufacturing experience is desired, but not required.
Essential Job Functions:
· Operate Blower, Auger, and/or Filtrexx machines.
· Loads and unloads materials, net, bags, product or stock to designated work areas as needed.
· Packages the products and maintains log of product type and weight for each roll.
· Cut netting, tie ends in a knot and repeat.
· Roll completed wattles and band.
· Observes machine processes for proper function and production for quality.
· Tracks all scrap and downtime.
· Clean machines for mechanic to work on when machines are down.
· Maintains clean surface of machine and work areas.
