Locksmith is responsible for the maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting of locks and keys. Duplicates keys and replaces and re-keys locks as necessary. Being a Locksmith may install or maintain emergency exit systems and electronic access equipment and devices. May design new key or lock systems for an organization. Additionally, Locksmith maintains a thorough records of changes and additions to an organization's key systems. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Locksmith works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Overview
Working as a Maintenance Mechanic III/Locksmith at LMH you will work under minimal supervision, repairs and maintains doors, locks, keys and panic hardware. Builds new walls and ceiling assembles. Performs preventive maintenance on hospital equipment and systems. Provides security where needed. Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational or trade school course work in carpentry preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registry:
- Must possess valid Illinois driver’s license and must be deemed as an acceptable driver in accordance with the MHS Fleet Safety Policy (five year MVR will be required).
Experience:
- Minimum of four years building and maintenance experience required.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Analytical skills necessary to estimate building costs and needed quantities of materials and supplies.
Responsibilities
- Performs and documents preventive maintenance properly and within time frame indicated
- Installs and maintains doors and associated hardware
- Maintains Taylorville Memorial Hospital key system
- Performs carpentry associated work on remodeling projects
