Position Title:    Sr. Staff Engineer (Req# 2242967)

Job Description:

Design and implement business functionality in the assigned Platforms(s), Product(s), and Product Line(s). Actively coach and mentor engineers in the product team and identify and resolve issues with technology and product processes. Develop new features and services that are medium-very to high level of complexity working with the product, platform, infrastructure, and security team. Design, code, test, deploy and support working software and technology component, working collaboratively with architects and other engineers. Build systems and services that have immediate impact for our business. Create Threat Model, Architecture, Estimates, Design, Code, and COTS configuration for the required business feature. Responsible for code analysis, debugging, and review and execution of unit and integration tests. Create test automation scripts. Responsible for delivering clean, secure, performant code and technology component that meets all the non-functional requirements. Responsible for achieving operational excellence as part of delivering feature. Act in a Lead Engineer capacity for medium to large initiatives, prioritizing and assigning tasks, providing guidance, and resolving issues. Set up application jobs, create test data, and support deployment, all at a medium to very high level of complexity. Lead discussions on design approaches to solving visible, strategic, and complex business problems. Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley compliance and all TJX Company standards as applicable. Fully Owns Epic with limited or no guidance. Give guidance and unblocks other; finds opportunities to mentor and grow teammates. Lead and participate in Development process definitions, best practices, and standards. Lead evaluation of 3rd party engagement need and SOW review and performance management process. Identify emerging technologies for consideration for new technology direction and implements proof of concepts to prove the new technology. Help onboard and mentor new hires. Coach and mentor other engineers on the team. Support Talent Acquisition process by performing technical interviews for hiring. Learn and champion DevOps practices. Maintain broad knowledge in the business applications and services that comprise a given technical domain. Understand the end-to-end business application processes in a given technical domain and is responsible for the technical application and service roadmaps including the recommendation and initiation of IT driven projects. Provide technical subject matter expertise and insight related to the business applications in each technical domain. Responsible for architecture, design, and technical decisions. Position is in fixed location based in Marlborough office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed. 

Job Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a directly related field plus seven (7) years of IT experience.

Must have five (5) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

• Programming languages, including Python and Java
• Scripting language, including Javascript, powershell, and bash
• Configuration Management, including Ansible Development
• Database query language, including SQL. 
• Computer Algorithms and Programming
• Software design and architecture
• DevSecOps best practices
• Security best practices and principles
• End-to-end architecture patterns
• Designing and implementing business functionality in their assigned Platform(s), Product(s)/Product Line(s), and Oracle Retail Platform(s)
• End to end business application processes in a technical domain.
• Incident and change management principles and best practices.
• Package Applications (COTS) and Supporting Technologies
• Sarbanes-Oxley and PCI compliance requirements

Must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

•   Retail systems or corporate business operations

Must have one (1) year of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

•   Leading Junior staff

40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm.
