Mesabi Metallics Company is searching for a candidate to fill an entry-level civil engineering position at our project site in northern Minnesota.  The Mesabi project is located in Itasca County on the west end of the Mesabi Iron Range near Grand Rapids, Minnesota.  The Mesabi project is one of the largest construction and mining projects in Minnesota history. 

Applicants will be considered for the position based on their level of experience and communication skills.  Interested candidates should have the following qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited Civil Engineering School
• A minimum level of Civil Engineering experience is desirable.
• Professional Licensing is desirable.
• Good coordination skills and knowledge of various engineering disciples
• Knowledge of local city, county and state land use processes and regulations
• Working knowledge of Civil Engineering Software
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Software
• A working knowledge GIS based software is desirable.
• Ability to work with team members to complete plant construction.
• Communicate and coordinate with the owners and other parties to provide all the technical support needed to facilitate site construction.
• Supervise and monitor critical work during construction phase.
• Maintain critical databases for construction and project records.
• Oversee commissioning of plant equipment and monitoring operations
• Interfacing with project managers, mining staff and mine operations, providing support as needed
