    Due to growth, we are adding a Lobbyist to our Government Relations Department

    We are unable to offer remote work to residents of Alaska, Hawaii, Maine, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

    The Lobbyist will work to implement strategic government relations agenda created by our Vice President of Government Relations, monitor legislative and regulatory activities, educate legislators and regulators on key issues related to Navitus and our affiliates, and develop and maintain professional relationships with elected officials, regulators, and other relevant stakeholders.

    How do I make an impact on my team?  

    • Promote and advocate for the business goals of Navitus to relevant stakeholders
    • Responsible for independent analysis of the impact of health policy on Navitus business including the identification of opportunities and risks; and communicating those items to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Act as a corporate liaison to industry groups and other stakeholders.
    • Build brand awareness and develop relationships with stakeholders through advocacy, lobbying efforts, conference participation, and other like activities. 
    • Assist the Business Units with business development sales efforts, especially with governmental entities, resulting in measurable revenue impact.
    • Coordinate activities across states and between state and federal governments.
    • Independently represent Navitus at events and conferences.
    • Develop and recommend legislative positions and strategies to the Vice President of Government Relations, as well as serve as the subject matter expert surrounding assigned issues. 
    • Draft, proofread, and finalize a variety of position letters, testimony, proposed legislative language, press releases, witness testimony, bill and policy analysis, articles, action alerts, presentations, briefings, and related communication methods to support Navitus’ position in a variety of matters and for a variety of audiences.
    • Conduct research, interpret results, and apply findings in recommending policy positions and advocating city issues.
    • Travel on an as needed basis to meetings to give oral presentations and answer questions on legislative or policy issues
    • May be required to work extended hours for special business needs

    What our team expects from you? 

    • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree or advanced degree preferred.  
    • 5 years Government Relations experience required including research, presentation, written testimony, and presentation experience.
    • Experience in Health Care or Insurance Policy required
    • Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
    • The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees
