Loan Examiner Manager manages a team of loan examiners responsible for credit and loan auditing and examination. Mentors, trains, and assesses the examination team. Additionally, Loan Examiner Manager may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.     UW Credit Union is growing and hiring a Loan Operations Manager to join our newly created Multifamily Residential Business Lending team.

    As the Loan Operations Manager, you will be instrumental in establishing and shaping the Multifamily Residential Business Leaning team, with evolving responsibilities over time. Initially the role will encompass individual contributor and managerial responsibilities, ranging from overseeing loan processing and ongoing loan portfolio operations to crafting essential procedures and developing comprehensive onboarding and training materials. You will also be involved in the strategic implementation of our loan system and creation of insightful reports to monitor performance and guide decision-making. The role will progress into department development, recruiting and training, and coaching and mentorship to grow and strengthen the team.

    Responsibilities

    What You’ll Do

    • Ensure operational integrity through the implementation of systems and processes for staff adherence to policies and procedures.
    • Collaborate with department manager and UW Credit Union management to plan, prioritize, and optimize resources for operational efficiency.
    • Act as a subject matter expert, both internally and externally, to troubleshoot and resolve issues in the Multifamily Residential Business Lending department.
    • Monitor and evaluate closing, post-closing, and servicing operations to expand resource capacity, enhance efficiency, and maintain quality.
    • Continuously assess service quality and improve efficiency, accuracy, and technology utilization through audits.
    • Focus on continuous improvement in processing and servicing operations.
    • Develop and maintain operations and training materials for new staff and credit union-wide training needs.
    • Collaborate with compliance, audit, and vendors to meet compliance and audit requirements.
    • Participate in annual budgeting and future planning processes.
    • Partner with cross-functional departments to recruit talent, share best practices and improve operations.
    • Drive team and personal development through teamwork, a high-performance mindset, effective communication, business acumen, coaching and change leadership.

    Qualifications

    What You’ll Need to Succeed

    • 5 years of loan administration experience within the commercial lending industry
    • 1-2 years of leadership and people management experience
    • Experience overseeing or preparing various loan reports
    • Advanced skills with customer interaction and ability to resolve issues as they arise
    • Consistent ability to meet deadlines and work with others, internally and externally, to ensure other pieces of the loan processing and loan closing process are completed on time
    • Advanced understanding and exposure to commercial loan documents, as well as experience preparing them
    • Strong understanding of commercial lending industry best practices, particularly policy and compliance items
    • Basic or entry-level exposure to financial analysis or cash flow modeling
    • Knowledge of appraisals and title policies
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
    • Must be detail oriented and have effective prioritization and problem solving skills
    • Experience using Sageworks Abrigo commercial loan system preferred
    • Notary Public Certification preferred
