Litigation Support Manager oversees the team that uses technology to support an organization's litigation efforts. Develops and implements policies and procedures for designing, implementing, and maintaining litigation databases. Being a Litigation Support Manager is responsible for the technical aspects of document organization and control, including electronic discovery (eDiscovery). Provides training to the end users on database use and document management. Additionally, Litigation Support Manager confirms the accuracy of the documents and exhibits for trial. May handle more complex cases. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Litigation Support Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Litigation Support Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Your Role

    The Manager, Litigation Support and E-Discovery is responsible for supporting the in-house litigation, labor and employment, and compliance investigation teams in various aspects of case management and overseeing e-discovery processes from end-to-end.

    What you'll be doing

    • Responsible for all aspects of case management, including intake of complaints and subpoenas, administration of litigation hold process, preservation, collection, review, and production of documents
    • Supports the legal team in the development of processess for litigation and investigations
    • Acts as formal advisor to other members of business units/functions and law department as it relates to Baxter’s preservation obligations and management of electronically-stored information
    • Communicates and manages activities of outside counsel, as appropriate
    • Work collaboratively with in-house counsel, in-house IT professionals, outside counsel and IT vendors to support ediscovery needs for litigation and investigations.

    What you'll bring

    • Bachelor's degree and paralegal certification or 4 or more specialty paralegal courses strongly desired, or equivalent legal experience.
    • Minimum of 5 years paralegal or equivalent legal experience.
    • Prior in-house or law firm experience.
    • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of case management, including intake of complaints and subpoenas, administration of litigation hold process, preservation, collection, review, and production of documents, scheduling and attending custodian interviews, and supporting attorneys responsible for litigation and investigations.
    • Highly organized, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong technology background and familiarity with variety of case management and e-discovery tools
    • Experience with legal technology tools used for data preservation, collection, processing and review. Ability to perform technical troubleshooting with these tools to resolve any questions or errors.
    • Experience with advanced technology assisted review and unstructured data analytics across large volumes of data to identify relevant information.
    • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently on a variety of tasks and to manage specific projects to conclusion with minimal supervision
    • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues, solve problems, make independent decisions and achieve goals
    • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.

The estimated base salary for this position is $104,000- $143,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commission, and/or long-term incentive.
