Our boutique litigation firm is adding an in-office staff attorney to our civil rights jail neglect injury/death practice team. Two years of civil litigation experience is required. We represent families of those who die in jails from neglect, abuse, or suicide, as well as those who are catastrophically injured in a jail setting. We file all cases in federal court.
The staff attorney position involves communicating with current and potential clients and opposing counsel; drafting discovery objections and responses, motions and responses (including assisting with frequent summary judgment motion responses), letters, and other case-related documents; appearing at out-of-town hearings; taking and defending depositions; and assisting with trial preparation and out-of-town trials. The position also involves critically reviewing and summarizing voluminous evidence (documents, audio recordings, and video recordings).

Base annual starting salary is $110,000 to $140,000, plus bonuses when cases resolve, with up to $200,000 or more eventual total yearly potential.
