Litigation Manager provides guidance and advice to a staff of paralegals or legal assistants involved in prosecuting or defending lawsuits. Monitors timelines and work progress to ensure work is completed on time. Being a Litigation Manager conducts new hire and ongoing training sessions. Requires a thorough knowledge of the organization's products/services. Additionally, Litigation Manager requires a bachelor's/master's degree. Typically reports to the top legal executive/general counsel. The Litigation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Established family law firm located in Huntsville, Alabama seeks to immediately hire a Paralegal/Legal Secretary. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: e-Filing in state court; Discovery and trial preparation; Preparing and filing briefs; Preparing trial exhibits; Maintaining accurate calendar for responsive pleadings and other deadlines; Assisting with drafting and reviewing various documents; Answering the phone; Transcribing dictation; In general, assisting with family law cases. Some training will be provided but, ideally, the selected candidate would hit the ground running.
