Typically reports to the top legal executive/general counsel. The Litigation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     WHO are we looking for?

     

    CAPTRUST is seeking a Litigation Paralegal who will provide support to our legal team in the following areas: litigation support, research, and special projects. This position will also participate in cross-training and providing overflow support of tasks related to contract drafting and review, and contract database and file maintenance. Primary responsibilities may include the following, among others:

    Responsibilities

    • Provide litigation support including file set-up and maintenance, information and fact gathering, and legal hold processing
    • Assist in responding to requests for information, subpoenas, and discovery by identifying, collecting, organizing, reviewing, analyzing, producing, and managing information in administrative, investigation and litigation matters.
    • Handle information requests to and from other company personnel, review documents and transmit information to company personnel with minimal guidance from supervising attorney
    • Conduct legal research
    • Support the maintenance of information databases
    • Perform administrative tasks, including calendaring, deadline management, general file maintenance and archiving
    • Furnish assistance in contract drafting and review, as needed
    • Undertake other ad hoc projects under supervision of attorney
    • Assist the Legal Department in the accomplishment of company and department goals, including commitment to continuous process improvement

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Paralegal Certification
    • 5 years of litigation experience, to include direct e-discovery experience
    • Skilled in Microsoft Compliance (Purview) or other e-discovery platform and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Understanding of the litigation and e-discovery lifecycles

    • Strong analytical skills
    • Innovative problem solving to find client-focused solutions
    • Organization skills with a strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and commitment to deadlines
    • Ability to communicate effectively with legal professionals and members of other company departments to effectively execute litigation processes
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and plan work
    • Financial Services industry experience
