Litigation Manager provides guidance and advice to a staff of paralegals or legal assistants involved in prosecuting or defending lawsuits. Monitors timelines and work progress to ensure work is completed on time. Being a Litigation Manager conducts new hire and ongoing training sessions. Requires a thorough knowledge of the organization's products/services. Additionally, Litigation Manager requires a bachelor's/master's degree. Typically reports to the top legal executive/general counsel. The Litigation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     We are actively recruiting a Manager with a strong background in matrimonial litigation support and forensic accounting to join our Forensic, Valuation & Litigation Support (FVLS) team. This team is based in Shrewsbury, NJ but remote hires in NYC, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, DC, Charlotte, Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, Austin, or Minneapolis are welcome!

    Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Leading and managing teams in performing forensic accounting, valuation, and litigation support services
    • Managing engagements, including planning, scoping, budgeting, and execution
    • Developing and maintaining positive, productive, and professional relationships with clients and colleagues
    • Conducting industry and client research and analysis
    • Documenting current client business processes and internal control environments
    • Assisting with interviews relevant to a particular litigation matter
    • Assisting with the preparation of detailed analyses, expert and other reports, affidavits, and other client deliverables (demonstrative tables, exhibits and charts)
    • Preparing proposals to new and existing clients
    • Balancing multiple projects and responsibilities
    • Communicating effectively to all levels of engagement management
    • Supporting the firm in its business development and marketing activities
    • Maintaining the integrity of corporate information

     

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA, ACCA and CFE preferred; MBA, ASA, and/or CFA a plus
    • 5 years of experience in providing litigation, investigation, and forensic accounting services
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to lead small teams, and create and deliver work product that exceeds client expectations
    • Ability to work independently and take ownership of specific assignments
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel; experience with Quicken and QuickBooks is a plus
    • Professional demeanor and strong communication skills, both written and oral
    • Ability to communicate professionally both internally to partners and externally to clients and convey key assignment issues
    • Ability to have flexibility to meet client deadlines
    • Ability to travel locally to clients and offices
    • Eagerness and willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
    • Natural aptitude for problem solving
