Maintains the docketing database, recording all necessary court appearances, meetings, and deadlines. Being a Litigation Docket Clerk generates reports detailing action items and due dates. Monitors deadlines and follows up with attorneys and paralegals as necessary to ensure docketing deadlines are met. Additionally, Litigation Docket Clerk requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Litigation Docket Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. BWW LAW GROUP, LLC, an “AV” rated real estate default law firm with offices located in Rockville, MD and Richmond, VA is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team in our Rockville, Maryland office. This position is full time (currently a hybrid remote and in office position). Attention to detail is a must to succeed as a part of our team! Our Rockville office is within walking distance to the Metro (Red Line - White Flint Station).
Responsibilities:
-Daily preparation of case files for attorneys;
-Drafting of court filings for attorney review;
-Filing documents with the courts (electronically or in paper format depending on jurisdiction) in MD and DC;
-Prepare and send for recording documents in land records;
-Update various client systems during the life of the case file;
-Communicate both internally and externally with clients pertaining to case files;
-Verify original documents, collateral files, notes and bailee letters from clients;
-Work with various internal teams to ensure accuracy of documents, as they move through workflow;
-Support attorneys in assigned division with processing legal documents and managing client requirements;
-Retrieve and log division mail and scan to the appropriate party;
-Assist with other duties and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
-Qualified candidates must demonstrate excellent computer and organizational skills, and be able to multitask;
-Must be comfortable working in a high-volume environment and fixed deadlines;
-Excellent communication skills;
-Attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
-Ability to analyze customer accounts;
-Previous mortgage servicing, real estate, or law firm experience a plus;
-Previous experience with the Maryland and DC Court’s electronic filing system a plus.
