Lineman constructs, maintains, and repairs overhead and underground transmission lines. Performs site preparation tasks, including digging holes or trenches, installing anchors, climbing poles, and using equipment like digger derricks, aerial lifts, pulling and tensioning equipment, forklifts, and dump trucks. Being a Lineman installs wire and cable. Follows all safety regulations and procedures. Additionally, Lineman work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a valid Driver's License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Lineman works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Lineman typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

    Overview

    The Operations Coordinator, Apprenticeships will be empowered to work independently, under general supervision as they provide direct support to NLC's Apprenticeship Programs (Power Delivery and Lineman Apprenticeship) and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure benchmark program operations.  The individual that fills this role will be self-motivated, adaptable, and able to pivot quickly while working under pressure and with tight deadlines.

     

    *100% ON-SITE POSITION - (MUST RESIDE LOCALLY & WORK FROM AN NLC CAMPUS LOCATIONS - CA, FL, ID, SC, or TX).

     

    *10% TRAVEL REQUIREMENT W/ THIS ROLE.

    In this position you will have the opportunity to:

    • Be responsible for the efficiency and effective coordination of all resources required to successfully deliver and process benchmark apprenticeship programs.
    • Provide exceptional customer service through prompt, appropriate, and professional communication to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Coordinate with clients and NLC internal staff to manage materials, facilities, and Training Specialists to maximize apprentice program delivery and profitability.
    • Utilize tools and technology in the preparation, delivery, and completion of training events and management of apprentice client records.
    • Implement project management processes and practices in the attainment of apprenticeship program goals and objectives.
    • Hold responsibility for maintaining client and apprentice records and data in compliance with NLC and external regulations with exceptional accuracy, in electronic and hard copy format, ensuring an audit ready state.
    • Validate and audit student files to ensure all requirements are met prior to requesting program certification.

    Required Education & Experience:

    • Associates degree or certificate in Business Administration, Office Administration, or similar field.
    • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience working in fast-paced, professional office setting.
    • Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word & Excel).

    Preferred Qualifications/ Attributes:

    • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP system.
    • Prior experience working in an energy-related industry and/ or training environment.
    • Customer service background.
    • Supreme attention to detail.

    Salary

    $23.57 - $26.19 per hour, DOE
