Lineman jobs in Warren, MI

Lineman constructs, maintains, and repairs overhead and underground transmission lines. Performs site preparation tasks, including digging holes or trenches, installing anchors, climbing poles, and using equipment like digger derricks, aerial lifts, pulling and tensioning equipment, forklifts, and dump trucks. Being a Lineman installs wire and cable. Follows all safety regulations and procedures. Additionally, Lineman work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a valid Driver's License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Lineman works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Lineman typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

Aerial Lineman
  • DVM UTILITIES INC

  • Aerial telephone/cable lineman

    • Install, upgrade, or eliminate aerial cables
    • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
    • Complete work as directed by field supervisor.
    • May provide instruction in training of less experienced lineman and ground-hands.
    • Preventative inspections of equipment, including truck and trailer.
    • Maintain clean and safe work site.
    • Work safely.

    Job Requirements/ Qualifications

    • Able to safely operate aerial equipment, including bucket truck digger derrick and trailer
    • Michigan CDL License, or ability to obtain one in timely manner
    • Able and willing to work outdoors and in inclement weather conditions
    • Ability to work on call
    • Proficient in fiber/cable installation, and pole transfers.
    • Knowledge in building strand, lashing/over lashing, vertical grounds, and building and repairing aerial telecommunication lines
    • Knowledge in placing new and replacing broken telephone poles and ground pedestals.
    • Ability to read blue prints.
    • Able to work and climb aloft at heights up to 35’.
