Lineman constructs, maintains, and repairs overhead and underground transmission lines. Performs site preparation tasks, including digging holes or trenches, installing anchors, climbing poles, and using equipment like digger derricks, aerial lifts, pulling and tensioning equipment, forklifts, and dump trucks. Being a Lineman installs wire and cable. Follows all safety regulations and procedures. Additionally, Lineman work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a valid Driver's License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Lineman works under moderate supervision. The City of Geneva Electric Utility, a division of the City of Geneva Public Works Department, is seeking a qualified journeyman lineman to perform skilled work in the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and inspection of the City’s electric (12-34kV) utility system.

Salary and Benefits
The rate of pay for this position is $59.7054 per the current CBA between the City of Geneva and IBEW Local 196.
