The Construction Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for providing support to construction superintendents, estimators, project managers, foremen, operators, and technicians established in the Cathodic Protection industry. Responsibilities include development and implementation of process and procedures to safely install, monitor, and maintain client corrosion control. Collaborate with Key, Emerging and Core teams to enhance client development to support vertical, horizontal and regional growth. Develop and monitor training for Corrosion Control team members to ensure continual development of skills. In concert with the Director of Corrosion Control, develop short- and long-term business plan that align with LSC vision and values.
Responsibilities:
· Be an advocate for safe work practices by ensuring superintendent and crews understanding and complying with construction and excavation safety practices and policies
· Ensure all employees part of the CP construction team understand construction and excavation safety practices and policies
· Provide SME support for business development opportunities
· Participate in hiring new employees and aid in forecasting of upcoming needs, as well as determining when sub-contractors will be required
· Collaborate with other work with other LSC team for business development opportunities.
· Work with project managers and engineers from project inception to ensure constructability is reviewed
o For projects LSC is designing and constructing, the Construction Supervisor will complete the site visit with the project engineer prior to commencing the design to ensure constructability
· Working with superintendents to ensure personnel qualification requirements, permitting, client schedule, one calls, and client specific ground disturbance policies are being met for all projects.
· Monitor to ensure proper reporting and construction tracking policies and procedures
· Monitor to ensures employees comply with all DOT driving requirements
· Support the Superintendent(s) to ensure LSC has all proper equipment to prepare for and complete construction activities
· When required based on complexity or availability, travel to the job site to kick off construction work and ensure team members understand the design and scope of work
· Outline and implement training regarding company/client/industry processes, equipment, and technology
· Monitor to ensure CPC is working with other supervisors, schedulers and business lines to efficiently staff and oversee projects
· Facilitate OQ evaluations
· Work with employees on advancing technical comprehension and professional growth
· Work closely with employees to ensure growth is aligned with the goals of the IM team and the organization
· Oversee implementation and testing of new processes, equipment, and construction methods
· Advanced troubleshooting support for technicians
· Ensure adherence to company and client policies and expectations
· Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports
· Review and approve weekly time and expense sheets, for direct reports
· Responsible for overall utilization of employees with respect to Company goals
· Ability to identify and follow up on project opportunities for all business lines within the company
Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· DOT health card
· Minimum of 5 years of construction experience
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of corrosion control
· 5 or more years related industry experience
· Leadership and interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and build positive working relationships
· Knowledge of ethical behavior, business practices, and goals of the organization
· Well organized and ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
· Analytical skills with ability to dissect problems and quickly develop solutions
· Understands evolving construction practices and standards
· Creativity to develop new and unique ways to improve operations of the organization
· Knowledge of applicable State and Federal regulatory requirements (CFR 49 Part 192 & 195)
· Extensive knowledge of NACE standards and test methods
· Intermediate proficiency with MS Office
