Light Assembler jobs in Syracuse, NY
Light Assembler assembles fabricated parts of small or light subassemblies and completes units. Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Light Assembler identifies and sorts units that fail quality standards. May disassemble units to repair or refit parts as necessary. Additionally, Light Assembler operates hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble units. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Light Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Duties and Requirements:
- Assembly of industrial products including: hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic assembly.
- Inspect products for accuracy and quality.
- Must be able to measure with a ruler.
- Meticulous attention to safety and product quality.
- Overtime work as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Aptitude for math, problem-solving, computers, and mechanics.
- Ability to work and communicate well with others.
- Ability to work in a team environment with other assemblers.
- Proficiency with hand tools.
- Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Able to work either 7:00am - 3:30pm or 8:00am - 4:30pm.
