Light Assembler assembles fabricated parts of small or light subassemblies and completes units. Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Light Assembler identifies and sorts units that fail quality standards. May disassemble units to repair or refit parts as necessary. Additionally, Light Assembler operates hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble units. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Light Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Position ProfileThe Assembler I position assists in all aspects of the Assembly process to ensure the on-time delivery of components that meet the clients quality and performance standards.
This includes but is not limited to a range of routine mechanical and / or electromechanical assembly operations, under well-defined instructions and in accordance with company policy and safety procedures, quality testing, daily performance review in a teamwork environment, problem solving, and participating in a department-wide 5S program.
The Assembler I will work under the direct supervision of the Cell Lead and Dept Supervisor in cooperation with other employees as part of a work team as well as individually throughout different production areas of the department.Knowledge & Experience
