Underwrites and oversees the issuance of renewal on key accounts. Being a Life Underwriting Manager proposes enhancements for life underwriting policies and procedures. Must be familiar with current legislative and compliance processes affecting Life Insurance. Additionally, Life Underwriting Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. The opportunity:
As a Sr Underwriting Consultant, you will be accountable for underwriting prospective new business and renewing clients in the Healthcare Professionals market. This will require the ability to apply a strong technical Underwriting base and specialized healthcare knowledge to evaluate risk, rate and negotiate price. There is a strong emphasis on understanding the healthcare professionals' market dynamics and creating strong partnerships within Sun Life's dedicated Healthcare Professional product vertical.
How you will contribute:
Review new business and/or renewal requests for coverage in the 500-2,000 lives Healthcare Professionals market segment (Life, Disability, Dental, Vision and Supplemental Health).
Demonstrate strong understanding of the elements of pricing including risk factors, manual rates, risk classification, experience rating and pricing targets.
Execute effective risk/pricing decision making and recommendations within the Underwriting Policies and Practices framework.
Manage assigned workload to meet productivity targets, time service standards and broker due dates.
Represent underwriting on Healthcare Professional segment projects and strategy work.
Understand and articulate Healthcare Professional segment product, pricing and sales strategy.
Healthcare Professionals subject matter resource for other underwriters and sales partners.

Southern region: $82,300 - $123,500 annually
Central region: $86,800 - $130,200 annually
Northern region: $92,700 - $139,100 annually
If you are a Colorado resident, the salary range for this position is $78,600 - $117,900 annually.
If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $92,700 - $139,100 annually.
If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is $86,800 - $130,200 annually.
