Life Underwriting Director jobs in New York
Life Underwriting Director directs and oversees the life insurance underwriting program for individuals and/or groups. Responsible for ensuring integrity of underwriting activities and processes. Being a Life Underwriting Director provides coaching to underwriters and assists on more complex applications. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Additionally, Life Underwriting Director typically requires Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) certification or Fellow Life Management Institute (FLMI) designation. Typically reports to top management. The Life Underwriting Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Life Underwriting Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. - Provide monthly training for teachers on up-to-date deliverables
- Review teachers’ lesson plans, schedules, room arrangements, and portfolio assessments
- Access and evaluate classrooms in CLASS and ECERS
- Provide ongoing technical assistance for all education staff
- Schedule and perform quarterly education staff reviews
- Research and offer innovative skills and tools to enhance the quality of teaching in the center
- Facilitate workshops for education staff that focus on short and long-term plans which connect all content areas
- Facilitate education workshops for parents at least (3) three times annually
- Assist in developing and implementing individual educational plans for children with special needs
- Perform annual evaluation of education staff
- Attend Site Director meetings and mandated monthly funder meetings
- Report on a regular basis to the Early Learn Director of Programs
