Licensing Clerk assists in maintaining records, compiling information, and submitting forms necessary for agent licensing. Performs routine clerical duties, such as filing forms and other records from licensed agents and applicants according to an established system. Being a Licensing Clerk updates database, inputs data as required. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, Licensing Clerk typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Licensing Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     §70.1 Transfer to Licensing Services Clerk: One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-07 or above deemed eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

    §70.1 Transfer to Licensing Services Clerk Trainee: One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in title SG-06 or above deemed eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

    55b/c Appointment to Licensing Services Clerk Trainee: This position is eligible for 55b/c designation and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility. Candidates must possess a current 55b/c eligibility letter.

    This position may be filled as a traineeship. The starting salaries for this position are outlined below. For current New York State employees, salary is based on the candidate’s salary at the time of hire. Candidates appointed at the trainee level will be required to successfully complete the traineeship to advance to the full performance level title and salary.

    • $34,152 (Trainee 1- NS equated to SG-6)
    • $40,193 (Full Performance level SG-09)

    This position leads to a maximum salary of $49,405 based on annual performance advances and traineeship advances.
