Licensed Practical Nurse - Nursing Home administers nursing care in a nursing home environment under the supervision of a registered nurse or other medical supervisor. Provides basic medical care, including changing bandages, administering prescribed medication, and collecting specimens. Being a Licensed Practical Nurse - Nursing Home ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients by assisting with bathing, feeding, and dressing. Monitors and reports changes in patient's condition to supervisor. Additionally, Licensed Practical Nurse - Nursing Home requires a high school diploma. Requires graduation from approved LPN educational program. Requires a state license to practice. Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. Licensed Practical Nurse - Nursing Home's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. Essential duties include:
- Provides nursing and supportive care in accordance with Interdisciplinary Plan of Care, under the direction of the RN.
- Communicates with the attending physicians, other home health team members and other agencies as needed to coordinate optimal care and use of community resources for the patient/family.
- Document all services provided and submit on appropriate forms.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid regulations for hospice benefits.
- Report changes in patient condition and needs to RN
- Great time management skills
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year as an Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Home Health/Hospice experienced preferred
- Current Arkansas license
- Participate in On-call with other LPNs'
- Have dependable transportation, driverÂ’s license and car insurance
