Position Summary
As the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will provide all duties of nursing services. It is required to follow Nursing policy and procedures regarding detoxification and other Nursing Services. It is also required to carry out physical’s orders and protocols as directed. In this role, we participate in Performance Improvement and Infection Control activities as indicated.

This position is responsible for helping to coordinate and deliver quality medical care in partnership with therapists and medical providers.
1. Maintains patient safety at all times.
2. Help provide and maintain therapeutic medium for patients.
3. Actively participates in treatment team and staff meetings.
4. Provides competent nursing care of all patients within the boundaries of licensure.
5. Complete admission process including nursing assessment upon admission.
6. Monitors for signs and symptoms of withdrawal by completing CINA scale, monitoring vital signs and mental status.
7. Assess physical complaints and problems making any necessary referrals to Medical Director and/or Emergency Room.
8. Dispense medications as ordered to patients in detox and assess for untoward effects and effectiveness of prescribed medications.
9. Be familiar with actions, side effects and dosage of all prescribed medication.
10. Supervise self-administration of medications.
11. Maintain accurate records of Scheduled Drugs.
12. Demonstrate good nursing judgement in dispensing ordered prescribed and over-the-counter medication.
13. Perform veni-punctures using acceptable technique with proper preparation of sample as indicated by test ordered.
14. Obtain urine samples for drug screens as ordered.
15. Ability to perform in-house drug screens using the ADX analyzer and routine maintenance procedures with proper instruction.
16. Collect and prepare samples as ordered for cultures and sensitivity.
17. Assist Medical Doctor with physical examinations.
18. Develops, implements and maintains current nursing care plans for assigned patients.
19. Inventory supplies emergency box, first aid kit and medications and notify nursing coordinator/manager of needs.
20. Accurate implementation of physician orders.
21. Patient teachings as indicated by special needs, demonstrated lack of knowledge and assessments.
22. Thorough and accurate documentation of patient care, procedures, complications and progress in medical record using the problem oriented record system.
23. Orient patients to program and phases of treatment.
24. Prepare and deliver lectures and in-services as requested within the scope of knowledge and training.
25. All duties and responsibilities as assigned within the boundaries of licensure, knowledge, training, working conditions and physical demands.
